Joey Fatts - The Wave Matthews Band (ft. A$AP Yams & Da$h prod. by Alchemist)
"In this life you got two kids of people, those who ride the wave, and those who provide the wave", spoke Yams as he iconically sent his blessings over the track. Behind Yams’ comical metaphors is the blatant truth. The rap game is certainly divided into those who are trying to push the hip-hop envelope and those whoare busy trying to imitate.
"The Wave Matthews Band" is dark, murky, and grimy, with a mysterious instrumental reminiscent of something off Covert Coup. Da$h opens the track in a vivid fashion, as he cleverly describes this rogue lifestyle through his lurid, drug induced lyrics and sinister flow. He is followed by Fatts who’s bars are even more menacing, as he paints a eerie picture of baneful crime and loyalty. Very few emcees, young or old, have the ability to illustrate this lifestyle in such a captivating manor. Its clear which side of the game these two future stars are on. Enjoy.
